was just thinking of a topic to write for the JAL essay.. suddenly reality hit me.. every single day.. across the globe.. there's so many social problems.. environmental problems.. economic issues..etc.. going on.. but who really cares about all these issues??..
i recall the movie Blood Diamond.. this show is like a wake up call for me.. on the other side of the globe.. so many lives are sacrificed.. families separated.. ppl are fighting every single day.. dying of hunger.. all becoz of
DIAMONDS!.. which us.. ppl from the opp side of the globe are so obsessed with!.. how many actually know that the luxuries that you yield for.. actually cost the lives of many others??
people are becoming more n more self-centered.. individualistic.. busy with their own life.. satisfying their own wants and needs.. who would really bother sparing their precious time for outside issues.. or even about ppl out there who can't even satisfy their daily necessity needs... since all these stuff do not even concern them at all??.. but little do they realise that there exists a cause and effect r/s.. consequences follows after every situation.. ur action DOES contribute to the outcome!..
well its quite sad to see ppl ard u behaving like this.. with that kind of
IMM(I, Me, & Myself) thinking.. how far can u go??.. how meaningful can your life be??.. how many of us can feel the burden for the elderly?.. for the orphans?.. for those to are struggling so hard every single day just to fight for that grain of rice.. or that drop of water in order to sustain their lives.. what about those who have great visions.. wonderful dreams.. but can never have a chance to fulfill them.. becoz they do not have the priviledge to..
every time i see the ah gong and ah ma selling tissue paper.. collecting aluminium cans.. washing the toilets.. i juz felt my heart sank.. i cant help but think.. where are their children??.. how do they feel when they see their old-aged parents doing such things??.. in fact i felt a burden for people as a whole.. im not saying all these to make myself look and sound great or flaky or watever.. its juz when i look at the ppl i meet everyday.. can't help but make me think.. do these ppl even care?.. just what is their perspective of life??
just as we are called to fulfill the cultural mandate.. but how many of us are actually stepping out to do it??.. do we even know what to do in the 1st place??.. maybe we shld all spend sometime to reflect on this.. are we too comfortable in our own lives.. that we become ignorant to the social issues that's happening ard us?.. or are u one of those who think that u shld just mind ur own biz??.. well if that's u.. den let me tell u.. u can never gain new insights to expand ur "biz" coz no "customers" are coming ur way.. and someday.. ur "biz" is just going to FAIL!.. Think abt it..
