ba zhang festival is here once again.. i rmb each yr this time.. i will be able to smell the aroma of ba zhangs as i walk ard the neighbourhood..everyone's making their own ba zhang at home.. my grandma and my godma used to make ba zhangs every year.. and they will make lots of them.. and distribute to everybody.. i never knew how to appreciate it when i was young.. i never really liked the taste of it.. but i enjoyed looking at the way ba zhangs are being made.. hee.. it takes lots of time and effort and they have to take every small little details into consideration.. not an easy job.. thumbs up to my grandma and godma.. hee..

but slowly.. the tradition of making ba zhang seems to have faded away.. i no longer smell ppl steaming ba zhang in the neighbourhood.. i only got to know that the festival is round the corner when the auntie bought ba zhang for us yesterday.. my boss n my polish colleague tried it.. and they was impressed.. they love it.. haa.. n i realised im starting to appreciate it.. its really one of the traditional chinese delicacies which we should really try to preserve..

sad to say.. in this modern society.. traditional culture that were once present.. seems to be slowly fading away.. ppl are adopting the western culture and forgetting the beauty of their own origins.. look at the youths nowadays.. who will actually want to even take the trouble to go and learn and carry on the tradition of making their own homemade ba zhangs every yr?.. n the fact is.. living in a fast paced society like ours.. where convenience is 1 of the most impt factor.. ppl dun even cook!..

guilty as i am.. i told myself.. i shld really learn to appreciate our very own traditional chinese culture.. before it slowly disappears.. haa.. n maybe i should 1st learn how to make ba zhangs!!.. wahha.. n in case you are thinking.. i know how to cook ok!!..hahah dun siao siao ar.. hehe..
