Jam@Chinatown is over!!!.. woohoo.. finally!.. give it up to AFUA! yea.. we did it!! many thanks to all the volunteers, performers, the sound ppl, the many associations that were involved in making this possible.. n of coz the ppl who donated!.. oh ya.. n thx to CKL, mich, kaiwen n my parents.. who came down to help today.. even though it was such a last min notice.. appreciate it man.. u will be blessed for ur contributions... haa

everything went on well.. it was a success i would say.. though the pre-event stage was really not easy and due to certain miscommunications we had a real hard time trying to get the event running proper.. also not forgetting the little little things that happened during the event.. but still it ended off well.. now.. we are juz left with all the post event admin stuff to settle.. haha..

though its another busking event.. but this time round its quite different.. maybe becoz of the location, the partner we are co-organising with, which is SAGE.. we came up with a diff theme compared to OrchardJam n Jam@SouthEast.. though we were rather skeptical when we started off with this new theme.. but it proofed me wrong.. its juz that the crowd.. the demographics here is really diff.. haa.. it was a real eyeopener i would say.. seeing the diff kind of ppl.. their fdbk.. their response.. haa it was fun.. and i got to know alot of ppl.. nice talking to alot of them..

The good stuff:
it warms my heart when i see the aunties and uncles clapping along and singing along with the performers..
it warms my heart when i see little children tugging the hands of their parents telling them 2 donate..
it warms my heart when i see the performers trying all they can to help us raise funds..
it warms my heart to see volunteers working so hard..till they choked up the donation bags
it warms my heart to hear the ppl saying they like our event..
it warms my heart to receive msges when performers thanking me for inviting them to perform..
it warms my heart when i see the smile of ppl who seem to be telling me that i've made their day..
it warms my heart when i see ppl so willing to give.. to help the less fortunate..

so.. singaporeans are not too stingy when it comes to doing charity afterall..

The not-so-good stuff:
it breaks my heart when i see volunteers coming only for the sake of clearing cip hours..
it breaks my heart when i see volunteers who went shopping after signing in.. instead of doing their job..
it breaks my heart when i see volunteers/performers not willing to cooperate with us..
it breaks my heart when i see volunteers/performers with really bad attitude..
it breaks my heart when i see performers using this as a channel to "show off" their bands without even helping us to promote our course..
it breaks my heart when i see performers thinking they r the "superstars" and we shld thank them for performing instead of them thanking us for the chance to perform..
it breaks my heart when i see ppl no longer willing to help the less fortunate..

somehow i juz wonder.. how many youth are actually enthusiastic when comes to serving the community.. giving $ is easy.. they can juz spend less for the next meal.. but how many are actually willing to sacrifice their time and really "give" in terms of labour.. in terms of manpower..

no offence here.. not trying to condemn anyone.. but it's really sad to see such things happening in our society.. what if it is you who need this donation? what if it is you who belongs to the less fortunate grp? or what if your family member needs the donations? would your action be diff den??

well well.. 3 day passed just like tat..im happy that its now over.. im glad im a part of it.. im glad i've cheered many ppl up the past 3 days.. im glad i played a part in serving the community.. im glad im part of this great team..

and now.. im tired.. i need some rest.. signing off..
