impacted by the svc yesterday.. deeply touched by the drama.. the video.. the word.. n His presence.. tears washed my cheeks.. my heart melted when i saw the kids crying when they saw their newly furnished sch.. when they knelt down to thank Sun for wat she has done..
i think this is really like a wake up call for many of us.. some ppl are just to comfortable with their extravagent lifestyle.. taking everything for granted.. n they totally forgot that on the other side of the world.. there are ppl who r really not so fortunate.. ppl who can only make do with 1 pair of tattered shoes throughout the year.. ppl who don't even have a proper roof over their head.. ppl who can't even afford to receive proper education.. what to us may be just 2 cups of starbucks coffee.. but to them.. it means 1 whole year of education.. no luxurious diamond accessories.. only torn rags to cover their bodies..
if you have been questioning why God has put you in whatever situation u r facing with rite now.. y don't u start thanking God instead.. at least u noe u r so much more fortunate compared to many others out there.. at least.. u have a proper roof over ur head thru rain or shine.. at least we still have the capability to overcome our circumstances as long as we are willing to work hard.. compared to those ppl who really don't have the capability to do much.. n some don't even have any family members or frens to begin with..
for each event i helped organised with AFUA, i can't help but wonder.. do ppl still care??.. just getting them to solicit donations for a few hours.. but some of them ended up going shopping with the donation bags.. some just stood there with the bags hoping that time will pass faster so they can faster clock the hours and go home..
how many ppl would actually still volunteer to step out to play a part for the community if not for the compulsory CIP hours which they need to clock??.. if schools were to abolish that requirement.. would students still step out to help?? students aside.. what abt the adults?? without any obligations to serve the community.. do they still care??
doesn't matter what ppl think.. i believe in the power of 1.. a simple act of philanthropy can impact lives.. 1 person can make a difference.. even if its juz 1 life.. like wat pastor say.. at least to that 1 person.. it made a difference..
lets be a star thrower.. changing the world.. one at a time..
make a difference in someone's life today.. =)
